Inca Empire - 6 Days/5Nights
Peru is one of South America's most popular travel destinations. Cuzco, the colonial city built on the foundations of the Inca palaces, is the gateway to the fabulous Citadel of Machu Picchu, one of the most renowned examples of Inca architecture. Charming Andean Villages in the Sacred Valley and the opportunity to trade beautiful art crafts in the village of Pisac. While in Lima, visit its principal attractions, such as the colonial downtown and the residential areas of San Isidro and Miraflores, Huaca Huallamarca and a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean. Truly fascinating!

 

Day 01 - Arrive in Lima and transfer to Hotel for overnight.
Day 02 - Depart from Lima for flight to Cuzco. Afternoon City and nearby ruins tour: the amazing colonial city built on the foundations of the Inca palaces, the Koricancha or Temple of the Sun, Plaza de Armas and the Cathedral, the Inca fortress of Sacsayhuaman, temple of Kenko and Tambomachay, known as the "Baths of the Inca". Day 03 - Full Day Sacred Valley, Pisac Market and Ollantaytambo Inca fortress tour. Colorful Andean Villages and Pisac, a unique typical town, which is filled with locals in their colorful traditional costumes trading goods after a traditional mass and procession. Lunch in Yucay, a very picturesque village with some fine Inca masonry in one of the squares. Behind the village, the finest surviving Inca agricultural system in the Cuzco region, still in use. Continue up the Urubamba Valley to Calca and to the highlight of this day, a visit to the fortress of Ollantaytambo that guarded the Inca Empire from the fierce jungle Indians. (BL)
Day 04 - Machu Picchu guided tour with lunch and overnight. Early 3-hour train trip that takes you through the Urubamba Valley; and a 20-minute bus ride to the most magnificent citadel of Machu Picchu, elected one of the new 7 Wonders of the World. Hiram Bingham discovered the Lost City of the Incas, in 1911; it consists of an enormous city hidden on a spectacular green mountain plateau surrounded by three towering peaks, while llamas roam on its slopes. Day 05 - Day at leisure to further explore the ruins or climb Wayna Picchu, across from Machu Picchu for a breathtaking overview of the "Lost City". Return to Cuzco for overnight. (B)
Day 06 - Board flight to Lima. Colonial and Modern Lima city tour, visiting colonial downtown and residential areas of San Isidro and Miraflores, the Larco Herrera Museum, world's largest private collection of Peruvian pre-Columbian art. Transfer to airport for return flight to the U.S. or continue to another fascinating destination in Peru or Latin America. (B)

Extension - Ica & Nazca Lines - 2 Days/1 Night

 

Day 01 - Transfer from Lima hotel to bus station and board the Ormeño Royal Class bus to Ica. Flight over the mysterious Nazca Lines: animals drawing, geometric figures and birds scratched onto the arid crust of the desert and preserved for about 2,000 years. Overnight. (B)
Day 02 - Transfer to Paracas Bay and boat ride to visit the Ballestas Islands, Peru's largest coastal wildlife sanctuary and home to thousands of resident migratory sea birds and colonies of sea lions. Return to Lima and overnight. (B)

Extension- Puno & Lake Titicaca - 3 Days/ 2 Nights

 

Day 01 - Bus ride to Puno, on the shores of Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world, on the border with Bolivia. Along the trip view of the herds of alpaca and llamas, small villages, and the majestic backdrop of the Andes. Lunch included. Arrival to Puno and overnight. (BL)
Day 02 - Visit by boat to the floating islands of the Uros Indians, Tour to Sillustani, circular stone towers used as graves for nobles in pre-Inca times. (B)

Extension - Arequipa & Colca Canyon - 3 Days/2 Nights

 

Day 01 - Flight Lima/Arequipa (not included). Tour of the “White City” including the Santa Catalina convent, Plaza de Armas, Jesuit Church of La Compañia and its beautiful painted chapel, the districts of Cayma and Yanahuara. Overnight in Arequipa.
Day 02 - Bus ride to Colca Canyon. Enroute sightseeing includes: Misti and Chachani volcanoes, a Vicuna Reserve, picturesque town of Callalli and Sibayo, to the town of Chivay. Overnight at local lodge. (BLD)
Day 03 - Early departure to the “Cruz del Condor” to admire the Colca Canyon and the Condor’s flight. On the way, some archaeological remains, typical towns like Maca, Achoma and Yanque, the hot springs of La Calera. Return to Arequipa and board flight to Lima. (BL)

Extension - Discover the Jungle - 3 Days/ 2 Nights

 

Day 01 - Fly from Cuzco to Puerto Maldonado, in the lower Amazon. Visit city market with tropical forest fruits and nuts and local handicrafts. Embark downriver seeing caimans (alligators), birds, flowers, exuberant flora and fauna. Guided walk on the botanical trail; excursion to Monkey Island. All jungle activities and meals are included. Day 02 - Full day tour on the river and hikes through the tropical forest. Visit to an indigenous cultivation plot and village. Return to the lodge at sunset. (BLD).

Extension Galapagos Odyssey - 8 Days/ 7 Nights

 

Day 01 - Depart from the U.S. Arrival in Quito, Ecuador and transfer to Hotel.
Day 02 - Full day tour Calderon and Cayambe, the well-known Indian market of Otavalo. Cotacachi for great leather bargains and the landscape in Tabacundo. (BL)
Day 03 - Full day tour visiting the colonial, historical sights of Quito and the Equatorial Monument. (B)
Day 04 - Flight to Galapagos Islands. Board M/Y Spondylus -4Days/3Nights cruising these marvelous islands. Visit Darwin Bay and Prince Philip’s Steps (Genovesa Island). A great variety of nesting birds may be seen at “the bird island” such as masked boobies, Galapagos owls, swallow tail gulls and the rare lava gulls. Also sea lions and fur seals. Day 05 - Visit Sullivan Bay (James Island) and Bartholomew Island. Discover the blackened coastline where lava has eroded and where you can find many lava pools as well as caves and inlets that are home to an amazing variety of wildlife . (BLD)
Day 06 - Explore Santa Cruz Island: The hub of most activity in the Galapagos, Puerto Ayora is a charming port town where you can find sea, sun, seabirds and sailboats. Visit Charles Darwin Research Station. Return flight to Guayaquil. Overnight at selected hotel. (BL)
Day 07 - City tour: traditional Barrio Las Peñas, the flight of stairs of the Cerro Santa Ana, El Malecón 2000, Parques, Plazas and the important churches. (B)
Day 08 - Day at leisure. Transfer to the airport for return flight to the US. (B)
