Extension - Discover the Jungle - 3 Days/ 2 Nights
Puerto Maldonado is situated at the confluence of the mighty Madre de Dios and Tambopata Rivers and is a bustling, booming tropical frontier town. Depart on a 45 minutes boat trip by motorized canoe to your Lodge. Guided lodge activities, such as jungle hikes and boat trips, to experience fauna and flora native to the region. A-TBFvisit to indigenous cultivation plot to observe the local community life style and different types of Amazonian crops will enhance your jungle experience.
Day 01 - Fly from Cuzco to Puerto Maldonado, in the lower Amazon. Visit city market with tropical forest fruits and nuts and local handicrafts. Embark downriver seeing caimans (alligators), birds, flowers, exuberant flora and fauna. Guided walk on the botanical trail; excursion to Monkey Island. All jungle activities and meals are included. (LD)
Day 02 - Full day tour on the river and hikes through the tropical forest. Visit to an indigenous cultivation plot and village. Return to the lodge at sunset. (BLD).
Day 03 - After breakfast, return to Puerto Maldonado and fly to Lima. (Continue with Day 5 of basic itinerary-Inca Empire) (B)
