Experience Guatemala - 8 Days/7 Nights
Most of the visitors head straight for the Mayan ruins of Tikal. Located in the Peten region, it is an impressive site and contains glorious examples of the Mayan civilization.Lake Atitlan and its picturesque fishing village will captivate visitors with its beauty. Chichicastenango is renowned for its Indian marketplace. Antigua is a virtual museum of Spanish Baroque architecture.
Day 01 - Arrival Guatemala City and transfer to selected Hotel.
Day 02 - Drive to Chichicastenango and visit the most colorful Indian open-air market in the country. Hundreds of Indians from the surrounding countryside gather to barter their goods and produce. Also, witness the captivating religious ceremonies held on the steps and inside the 400-year old Church of Santo Tomas. (B)
Day 03 - Depart for Solola, visit the traditional market where they are selling their products, fresh fruits, vegetables, candies, hand-woven textiles and other handicrafts. Continue to Lake Atitlan for overnight. (B)
Day 04 - Excursion to the lakeside village of Atitlan, one of the most beautiful in the world, with its crystalline-azure waters in the crater bowl below. Transfer to Antigua for overnight. (B)
Day 05 - City Tour of Antigua, a beautiful blend of ruins, restored colonial buildings, and new buildings in colonial style. Visit the Central Plaza, that is surrounded by the antique Cathedral, the Municipal Government Building, and the Palace of the Captains General. Return to Guatemala City.(B)
Day 06 - Flight to Flores. Guided tour of Tikal National Park with lunch. Visit the “Q” Complex, the Great Plaza, squared off with the pyramids of the Grand Jaguar and the Masks, the Palace of the Nobles, and Pyramid IV. This one is the highest of the Mayan pyramids, from its top a complete view of Tikal and its surrounding jungle can be enjoyed. Overnight at selected Hotel. (BL)
Day 07 - Morning at leisure In Tikal. Fly to Guatemala City and overnight.
Day 08 - Transfer to airport for departure flight. (B)
