Ecology and Tribal History - 5 Days/ 4 Nights
Explore Panama's ecological sites: Visit Miraflores at the famous Panama Canal and enjoy this old and colonial City. Explore the secrets and histories surrounding the building of the Canal while you experience this architectural masterpiece and have a breathtaking view of the ships transiting through the 8th wonder of the world. Discover the Indian community during an Eco-Tour in the National Park of Chagres.
Day 01 - Departure from U.S.. Arrival in Panama City and transfer to hotel.
Day 02 - Overnight tour to San Blas Islands, a group of islands which are located just off the Caribbean coast of Panama. The local people, the Kuna Yala, are a wonderful example of an how an indigenous people continue to flourish and practice their age old customs surrounded by the modern world. Include trips on canoes to the neighboring islands. All meals included. Island accommodations consist of simple, yet comfortable native style cabins with roofs and walls of thatched palm trees "all natural" lodgings that blend in perfectly with the tropical scenery. Day 03 - HD Canal tour: Explore the secrets and histories surrounding the building of the Canal while you experience this architectural masterpiece and have a breathtaking view of the ships transiting through the 8th wonder of the world. Afterwards Panama city tour : Visit the Causeway, which offers spectacular views of the modern city and its skyscrapers. In contrast, the oldest sector of the modern Panama City founded in 1673, has a charming mixture of colonial architecture, cobblestone streets and ethnic diversity. Visit Presidential Palace, the National Theatre, the 17th century Church of the Golden Altar and the Independence Square. Panamanian Typical lunch included. (BL)
Day 04 - Eco-tour to Chagres National Park to visit Parara Puru Indian community and the Chocoes/Embera Indian Village ,who originally came from the ancient Great Colombia over 300 years ago, and settled down mainly in the Darien Jungle. Experience the world of this Community: the men wear loincloth, their house system is based on (Tambos) elevated-bin houses with palm-leave roofs, they decorate their bodies using a mixture of ashes and plant pigments and are master wood carvers and basket weavers. Admire the famous Taguas, which are small sculptures made from a seed that due to its solid texture has been given the name of vegetal ivory; their handcrafts are real art pieces and they are available for your purchase .
