Argentina - Buenos Aires
Buenos Aires is the most "European" city in South America. From the wide avenues to the sidewalk cafés, it has earned the nickname of "the Paris of South America." The locals, called "Porteños" for this is a port city on the Rio de la Plata, are largely the descendents of European immigrants who settled here starting in the 1880s. They remade the 400-year-old city into the sophisticated metropolis that it is today. Discover the shopping areas where the Porteños buy the finest local leather goods, and then be serenaded by street jazz, tango or world-class opera.

Brazil - Rio de Janeiro

Rio de Janeiro is deserving of every legend you have ever heard about it. Granite peaks on one side, beaches and the sparkling sea on the other. If there is a more beautiful location for a city, it is not on this planet. And the people who live here, the Cariocas as they are called, are the jewels in the crown. The former Brazilian capital is now a great bustling city framed on all sides by exotic wonders. From the statue Christ the Redeemer high above the city to the famed beaches below, Rio commands center stage.

Iguassu Falls

Admiring the natural beauty of the widest waterfall in the world, with over 272 falls, situated on a National Park shared between Brazil and Argentina is an unforgettable experience!  Path footbridges and belvederes are all strategically placed to give the best view, allowing to see each and every fall! It is a completely different experience between the Brazilian and the Argentine side, which offers a fantastic close-up encounter with the Devils’ Throat and main cataracts.

Chile - Santiago

Santiago is one of the most modern and progressive cities in Latin America. It offers a great variety of tours, shopping malls, hotels and its famous gourmet food with the best wines of South America. Visit the main square “Plaza de Armas”, the Cathedral, Blvd. Ahumada, Government Palace “ La Moneda”, through Bellavista and up San Cristobal Hill, for a magnificent view of the city and the Andes Mountain Range.

Valparaíso

Valparaíso sits on a perfect bay harbor, ringed by the port's 17 cerros (hills) with the snow-covered Cordillera peaks in the distance. It is hard to decide which provides the more spectacular view of Valparaíso -- sailing into it or looking down on the city from atop one of the cerros. Valparaíso was designed as the key port city for Chile's nearby capital, Santiago, and is now the new home to the Chilean congress.

Puerto Montt

Puerto Montt is the capital of the Lake District which was founded, as many other villages in this region were, by German immigrants in 1853. It retains the feel of a small northern German town with wooden houses and fishing boats built in that style. Puerto Montt serves as the base for explorations to the deep-blue lakes and snow-capped volcanoes to the north and the wild Patagonian frontier, hardly touched by man, to the south.

Punta Arenas

In the center of the Punta Arenas plaza is a statue of Magellan. Magellan is the appropriate hero to celebrate here in tranquil "Sandy Point," for he discovered the strait on which Chile's southernmost city lies. After Punta Arenas, South America crumbles into innumerable islands and Tierra del Fuego. Yugoslavian sheep barons were the original pioneers of this remote region with its stunning vistas.

Uruguay - Montevideo
The small country of Uruguay, nestled between Argentina and Brazil, is dominated by its coastal cosmopolitan capital of Montevideo. Over half of all Uruguayans call this gracious city of incredible gardens, open-aired cafés and European-style squares home. A visit to Montevideo should include a study of Uruguay's gaucho (cowboy) life at the Museo del Gaucho and relaxation on one of the best beaches in all of South America.
