History & Romance in Recife - 8 Days/7 Nights
Combine the charm of Colonial style buildings and the heartiness of a Latin beach in Recife, in the Northeast of Brazil. It boasts some of the most beautiful beaches, the rich historical past of Olinda, great cuisine and friendly people. The cities will dazzle you with sophisticated restaurants, art and history. The beaches in Porto de Galinhas will forever remind you of romance, love and happy new beginnings.
Day 01 - Arrival in Recife and transfer to the Manibu Hotel for 2 nights with daily breakfast. Located just few steps from famous Boa Viagem Beach, with its beautiful calm sea, elegant buildings and a perfect promenade for walking. (B)
Day 02 - Half day city tour of Recife and Olinda: Visit the main sights of these two cities, being one of its highlights the famous Boa Viagem Beach with its reefs and clear and warm waters. The center of the city is crossed by several rivers and connected by bridges (Venice of Brazil). The Casa da Cultura (Culture House) takes place in the ancient public jail and today is a handicraft market. Olinda is a natural and cultural patrimony of the humanity, where you can learn its history, present in all monuments, colonial houses and century old churches. Add the cobblestone streets and the city location, up in a mountain, the examples of Barroque Art plus a beautiful ocean and Recife views at a distance. (B)
Day 03 - Transfer to Porto de Galinhas. Accommodations at Hotel Armacao, with daily breakfast for 5 nights stay, located right on the edge of the beach, just 1mile from the city center, with natural sea water pools, all shops and local restaurants. Porto de Galinhas is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Brazil. During the last century it was a port of disembarkation of slaves who later integrated with the mostly European settlers to produce some of the most beautiful people, men and women, of Brazil. Huge coconut forests and great reefs with its natural pools of crystal clear water, which are an invitation to swim and watch the colorful fishes around you. There are also many beach bars and great restaurants with typical food. (B)
Day 04 - Day 07 - Days at leisure to enjoy the beaches. Go for a stroll through the fishing village, and meet the people who live and work in the region. Porto de Galinhas’ village offers the visitor several unique adventure activities, such as “Jangada” sail, snorkeling, buggy rides, jet-ski and sandboarding in Pita, right next to Porto de Galinhas. Visit the artisan store, where you can find works that portray the north-eastern culture of Brazil.The freshest sea food is available- prepared and fried on the spot, as well as other dishes which include raw oysters, fried needle fish, lobsters, crab or shrimp brochette. Try the most varied juices or cocktails with tropical fruits - found easily in the local restaurants. Visit the Engenho Canoes, that manufactures, even today, the “rapadura” – a type of candy in bar that has sugar cane as its raw material. (B)
Day 08 - Transfer to the Recife Airport for departure flight. (B)
